Table Tennis Tournament A Big Hit as First Annual Hits the Little Courts --

Brain child of one of our own, the man known only as Zhi not only made the grade with one of the best club events of the year,  but also wins the tournament in typical Zhi fashion. 

Three tables, 20 entrants took to the tables with their game faces on and a take no prisoner attitude for this first of a kind event here at PRC...(for 2012)!

  The tournament took a very serious turn when some of the tournament favorites were eliminated in the first rounds.  Travis Fitch made a run for 4th place with Mr. Fisher making the 3rd place finish his money round.  Mike Deck, Marty Semke, Ron Barron and Gary Sampson stayed in the running but were kept out of a payday with 1st or 2nd round losses.  Mike Carter, finalist in the open division, took Zhi to the wire but was unable to capitalize on his his opponents unorthodox style which continually intimidated most of his opponents during the day. 

Deanna Semke took the ladies division with a 3-0 win over Melissa Slayton with some impressive moves of her own.

It was a great afternoon of fun and club camaraderie as we wound down to the finals which all who participated stayed and watched as we made a little PRC history...again.  I applaud Zhi on his tournament and hope to see another one in the very near future.  Seems like there are quite a few people talking about a rematch!

Pool is 81 and holding.  Come on down for a swim or one of our water classes.  Check the schedule for details.

Jacuzzi, Steam Room and Sauna:  In working order.  Temps good to excellent.

Fitness Room:  All is in working order.  TV at all treadmill stations.

Racquet Ball Courts:  All is good.  Court A is still in need of a door lock.  Parts have been ordered.

Tennis Courts:  Courts are in good shape weather wise and playable.  No water or frost.  Great conditions in the forecast for the rest of the week.
The screen between 1 and 2 is still under consideration.
